Contract UX/UI Designer

NuORDER (a leader in B2B ecommerce) is looking for a web designer/developer who can help us redesign and build out our customer facing Knowledge Base on a contract basis. The candidate should have experience building responsive layouts for web, UI/UX and visual design experience.


Some things you’ll be expected to do

  • Design easy to navigate page patterns based on existing wireframes
  • Bring those designs to life with custom written HTML/CSS & some Javascript
  • Be comfortable working within existing style guidelines / design language
  • Optimize and ship developer ready assets (experience with Zeplin/Avocode a plus)
  • Design some content (infographics, illustrations, icons, lockups) to pair with knowledge base categories based on stakeholder directions/guidelines


Essential skills

  • Excellent design chops, 3-5+ years in graphic design, web design, UI/UX (proficiency in Sketch, Adobe CS or equivalent, prototyping a plus!)
  • Proficiency/solid experience in HTML/CSS and some Javascript (previous experience designing/building in Zendesk or knowledge bases a huge plus!)
  • Up to date with Responsive Web Design best practices
  • Experience with testing and refining layouts, optimized for multiple views and devices
  • Ability to take project from concepts/wireframes to final shipable artwork and code

  • Great communicator, with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Up on current web product design trends and web/browser technologies
  • Lover of subtle web animations/interactions

Position will be reporting to our Design Director with a dotted line to our Head of Customer Service who is driving the initial knowledgebase project. If you’re the right candidate, we will most likely have more work for you after this initial project. :)
